Implementation and Application of a Binaural Hearing Model to the Objective Evaluation of Spatial Impression

A measurement that can predict the perceived spatial impression of sounds and provide the results in an intuitive manner would be a useful tool to aid the development of sound recording and reproduction systems. In this paper the term ‘spatial impression’ is intended as an overall descriptor which refers to all perceivable attributes that can be described in terms of three physical dimensions, which includes the majority of the attributes laid out in Rumsey’s spatial scene analysis paradigm [1].
